    The best farms

    1. 1A small girl in a white dress lying across the back of a cow, the rest of the herd grazing around herBe Whole Again FarmRaw milk, meat & eggs · Excelsior Springs4.8 (82 reviews)Be Whole Again Farm at Excelsior Springs in Missouri raises food with soil health and the wider environment in mind, and with animal welfare central to how the farm runs. The aim is nourishing whole foods produced in a way that leaves the land better off. Raw dairy and meat are sold through the farm's online store, with local pickup spots spread across the greater Kansas City area and Northwest Missouri up towards the Iowa border, so collecting an order rarely means a long drive.
    2. 2A group of fawn cows lying down in the shade under a big cedar treeTwisted Ash Farm & DairyRaw milk & eggs · Foristell5 (47 reviews)Twisted Ash Farm & Dairy is a raw milk dairy at Foristell, Missouri, offering farm fresh food to families looking for an alternative to the commercial food system. The farm takes milk safety seriously and tests its raw milk for bacteria, with the aim of selling milk that keeps well and tastes clean. Orders go through the farm's online store, where local customers verify their location before shopping, and collection is arranged from there. Raw honey and other farm goods appear alongside the milk, and with no fixed opening hours it is best to get in touch to sort out a time.
    3. 3Camelot Cattle CompanyCamelot Cattle CompanyRaw milk & eggs · Marionville4.9 (48 reviews)Camelot Cattle Company is a grass fed raw dairy in Marionville, in the Missouri Ozarks, run by Marc and Michelle DeLong. The dairy herd is AJCA registered Jersey cows and ADGA purebred registered Nubian goats. Marc's father Ron DeLong started the dairy in 1973, and more than forty years of that selective breeding sits behind the foundation cows. The farm says it goes beyond USDA organic standards, and it grazes the cows and goats every day of the year on home grown alfalfa, clover and grass hay alongside fresh forage. No routine hormones or antibiotics are given, and any animal that does need treating is pulled from the milking string. Raw whole milk is the heart of what they sell, never pasteurised and never homogenised, poured into half gallon glass bottles with a one time deposit that customers swap on each visit. There is raw Jersey cow milk and raw Nubian goat milk, and pasture raised chicken, guinea and quail eggs sold with the bloom left on. The shelves also carry Michelle's goat milk soaps and raw honey from a local bee farm run by Marc's cousin. Everything goes out through a self serve on farm store: new customers come by appointment, and once you are established you can collect whenever it suits you.
