Glasraí Organic Farm

Joe grew up on a dairy and beef farm and worked as a carpenter before taking a course in organic horticulture at Mayo Abbey, where he met Aoife, who had picked up organic growing while WWOOFing around the world. They built their first real polytunnels out of old mushroom houses. Their certification is held with the Organic Trust, and they farm for a biodiverse living system rather than a monoculture.

The growing list runs from leafy greens, herbs and salads through potatoes, onions and root crops to mushrooms, fruit and some genuinely unusual vegetables, with eggs and honey alongside. There is a weekly seasonal vegetable box ordered online and collected from the farm on Friday and Saturday, with drop off points in Westport, Castlebar and Cloonbur.
