- 1Killarney Bee Walks and HoneyRaw honey · Killarney5 (21 reviews)Killarney Bee Walks and Honey is a traditional twenty acre farm about three kilometres from Killarney town, along the Wild Atlantic Way. The land is ringed with bee loving hedgerows of blackthorn, gorse, oak, rowan, sycamore and whitethorn, and two and a half acres of it are given over to a bee meadow of pollinator flowers and wildflowers. The hives sit in the farm's own apiary, and the honey is taken off at the end of July.
Visitors can walk the meadow path, watch the bees working in observation hives at the visitor centre, then call into the honey house to taste the raw honey and fill a jar to take home. The farm sells its Meadow Flower Honey in 227g and 340g jars, along with beeswax candles and lip balm. That honey took a silver medal at Blás na hÉireann, and the farm also runs guided, group and educational beekeeping walks.
- 2Leagh Farm OrganicsFruit & veg · Ballyduff5 (3 reviews)Leagh Farm Organics is a small family run market garden at Leagh, near Ballyduff in north Kerry, on the main Ballyduff to Ballybunion road close to the Ferry Bridge. Niall and Billy Jo grow leafy greens, salads, vegetables and some fruit across open fields and polytunnels, working to organic standards and sourcing Irish organic seed where they can. The polytunnels stretch the season, but what is ready still comes down to the Irish weather.
Seasonal vegetable boxes are delivered locally from June to October, either as a set box or a choice box. Their salad leaf and other leafy veg also turn up in local shops and supermarkets around Ballybunion and Ballyduff from April to November, and they take restaurant and bulk orders. The beds are built no dig, and the whole family gets roped in for the big jobs like covering a polytunnel for a new season. It is not an open farm, so a visit needs an appointment.
- 3Knockatee Natural DairyRaw milk · Ardea WestKnockatee Natural Dairy is a small artisan creamery at the foot of Knockatee, on the Kerry side of the Beara Peninsula near Kenmare. Everything here is made with unpasteurised milk from grass fed cows in the valley just across from the creamery, which makes it one of the very few raw milk dairies still working in Ireland. The cheese is made only in spring and summer, while the cows are out on fresh pasture.
Seán is the master fromager and took the craft on from Peter Ireson eight years ago. The cheeses are handmade with minimal machinery and no chemicals, following traditional methods. The range covers a raw milk cheddar, a gouda, and the signature Kerry Blue, one of the few raw blue cheeses made in the Republic of Ireland, which took gold for best blue cheese at Blás na hÉireann in 2021. Cheese is sold through the dairy's own online shop.

Little Black Hill FarmFruit & veg · KillarneyLittle Black Hill Farm grows organic vegetables at Knockeendubh, just outside Killarney on the Tralee road. Mary and her team sow, grow, harvest and pack everything on the farm, using natural and regenerative methods and no chemicals or pesticides. The location is deliberate, sitting handy for anyone driving in and out of Killarney, because the farm sells straight to the people who eat the food with no middleman in between.
The farm runs on a community supported agriculture model. Members hold an account, order online each week between Sunday and Monday, and collect their box at the farm on Tuesday between 1pm and 9pm. Places are limited and the scheme is full for the current season, so the farm keeps a waiting list and takes people on in the order they got in touch. In the meantime their vegetables are on the shelves at Milltown Organic Store and SuperValu Killarney.

Excellent raw honey that won several national awards. Reasonable prices (€ 8 for a 340 g jar). Tim is very friendly and hospitable owner. There is an honesty box, and open 8am - 8pm. Tim also showed us how to extract honey and make bee wax. Thank you Tim. Highly recommended.
