They put it into organic conversion in 2004 and have held Irish Organic Association certification since. Vegetables come out of six polytunnels and open fields, and another ten acres is given over to native woodland, red clover and wildlife, with 7,000 trees planted.
Most people meet the farm through its organic boxes, which have gone out since 2006 to Galway, Mayo, Limerick and Dublin, and by courier to the rest of Ireland. You can take a set box or build your own from fruit, vegetables and groceries. The farm shop opens every Saturday from 10am to 5pm for freshly cut produce, zero waste refills and a wander through the polytunnels to see the crop still growing. The two rescue pigs, George and Florence, live on site.

Laying hens are the heart of it. They live in mobile housing that is moved across pasture so the birds keep regenerating the ground they scratch over, and their eggs are what the farm is known for. Alongside them Brian grows chemical free vegetables in polytunnels and a market garden.
The farm shop is an honesty shop, open from 9am to 9pm every day of the year. It carries the farm's own eggs and seasonal vegetables, raw organic milk from Gleann Bui Farm in Mayo, sourdough from Granum Bakehouse, and goat's cheese, honey, ferments, kombucha, flowers and soap from other local makers. There is also a wood fired sauna, a sensory garden, and space for classes and small retreats.

Local flora gives the honey its own sweetness, and every jar is 100 per cent raw and full of natural antioxidants.
The range takes in wildflower, heather, comb, section and hot honeys, with bee pollen and propolis besides. Everything can be ordered from the online shop, and the family also runs bee tours from their home place at Carrowmore. The shop is open Tuesday to Saturday, 10am to 6pm.

Mill House FarmFruit & veg 路 Williamstown4 (5 reviews)Audrey Hession and Mick Wright have been growing certified organic salad at Pollaneyster, outside Williamstown in north Galway, since 2009. Their aim, in their own words, is to keep the salad on Irish plates Irish and organic. They cut mixed leaves all year, along with rocket, spinach, kale, bok choy, scallions and potatoes, and they carry both the Irish Organic Association and EU organic marks.
It is a small operation: a short team sows, harvests and drives the deliveries itself. The salad goes to restaurants, hotels and food service kitchens, and to SuperValu shops across Galway, Roscommon and Athlone, so it is easy to find locally without a long journey. For seasonal lines such as tomatoes, squash, carrots and potatoes they work with other nearby organic growers. The farm also takes visitors for tours and tastings, and trains new growers through the Organic Growers of Ireland internship scheme. - 5
Lough Mountain FarmMeat 路 Loughrea4.7 (3 reviews)Lough Mountain Farm sits high in the Slieve Aughty mountains at Loughatorick South, outside Loughrea in south east Galway. Rory O'Reilly and his wife Sarah keep Angus and Galloway cattle and a flock of lambs that graze the native flora of the hill. The animals are fed on grass and grass silage only, never housed indoors for the winter and never given concentrates, and the farm uses mob grazing and tree planting to build the land back. It takes part in the Hen Harrier Project, and says its grassland and wildlife have both improved since.
The meat is sold direct in boxes rather than through a shop. There is a 10kg mixed beef box, a smaller Make Ends Meat box, sides and whole lambs, and the cuts most butchers no longer carry: marrow bones, liver, heart, tongue, ox tail, cheeks and leaf fat. Boxes travel fresh, not frozen, on set delivery dates to all 32 counties, and stop from December to April while the farm waits for spring grass. - 6
Connemara HoneyRaw honey 路 An Spid茅alConnemara Honey is produced by Charin Honeybee Products at Lippa near Spiddal in County Galway, where the bees forage the wild landscape of Connemara. The honey is pure, raw and Irish, sold fresh from the farm with as little interference as possible.
The range takes in blossom, heather, ivy and section honey along with beeswax candles and oil burners, and they even sell bees and hives to aspiring beekeepers. Orders are delivered across Ireland within 2 days, free on orders over 50 euro, or you can collect from the farm on Friday afternoons between 5pm and 8pm.

Amazing fresh fruit and veg. Tastes and smells like fresh veg from the garden when I was a youth. I had actually forgotten the real taste of carrots imagine! So delicious. Excellent service. I highly recommend it and will definitely repurchase goodies.
