Disappointed, not with the shop or the cafe, but Google said this was a great, family friendly place to stop with a kids farm and play area. While that isn't an outright falsehood, it is a huge exaggeration of what is actually available for your kids. The play area is one, small wooden climbing structure that doesn't even have a slide and the farm is 2 pens with a couple of goats and a couple of sheep. But, the cafe and shop easily earned 4 stars (would have been 5* if I wasn't so disappointed with the misleading information on the kids stuff). We had coffee, cake and a milkshake. All lovely. Huge slice of chocolate cake, big enough for my son and I to share, milkshake made with ice-cream and cream and good coffee! Didn't have a meal, but those I saw being served looked great. If you aren't looking for kids entertainment then I would definitely recommend stopping here.
Farm shops seem to be quite hit and miss, some are massive and offer an amazing mind boggling range of goods, some like this, whilst by no means bad, but little bit of a let down.ok we visited towards the end of the day but some of the fresh meat looked a little dry, like I said not a bad place at all with what they do sell. It was very quite as well so hopefully they get busy during the week.
Delightful stop on route to Cornwall amazing cake.
Great Farmshop and cafe.
Great stop on way to tavistock recently. Great steak and eggs and coffee. Been back since and highly recommended.
Rebuilding the food system, from the farm up

Wow, what a wonderful surprise to discover this beautiful Farm shop and Cafe. We enjoyed a delicious lunch in the cafe with fresh locally sourced ingredients and managed to pick up some lovely food in their farm shop. We would have purchased some fresh fish from their fish shop but sadly it was closed on a Monday. We will be returning for sure and thanks again for a great experience 👏👏👏
Cafe is great, staff are amazing. As is the fishmonger. The farm shop is the 1 star. People working just chatting and not serving customers (the butcher had to ask them to stop talking and serve us). 260g of local Devon blue cost £11.15. I don't mind paying for decent quality but that takes the piss, as did everything else. No chance of returning.
Nice shop and products etc. vast majority of which are bought in from elsewhere rather than being farm-produced - as is common with farm shops. It wasn’t a particularly welcoming or warm atmosphere I’m afraid. A member of staff/management arrived at the shop while I was there and sort of summoned the two younger staff to join him ‘across’ when they were finished - which I took as my cue to finish shopping and leave as I was the only customer. It was lunchtime, not closing time - it’s just that customers weren’t the priority. Some really nice looking meat products and an ice cream hatch that looked promising if it had been open and staffed. I went out of my way to visit but doubt I’ll ever go back.
Wow, just popped in en route. Had a nice lunch. However, bought a nice marbled sirloin steak for later. On my, absolutely fab. Simply cooked with butter, seasoned. Rested and fry some mushrooms + mustard and a splash of nice red wine in same pan. Yum😋
Held my sister’s baby shower here on Sunday! Adam was so lovely and helpful and the food was absolutely delicious! We had a lovely time, so thank you for having us! 🪿 ✨
