Abbey Farm Cottage

Our full day of learning about, and trying (successfully) to make, cheese for the first time was wonderful from start to finish. Our hosts were tremendously generous with their knowhow, delicious lunch and warm ambience at their farmhouse kitchen and dairy. The goats milk and diverse cheeses were all superb. Highly recommended. 😋

I recently had the opportunity to try the fabulous Bell End Blue Goats Cheese and it is wonderful - it is not overly "goaty" but rather has a lovely smooth flavour and texture - would go really well in a salad!!

Just spent the weekend here. Had an amazing weekend. Total relaxation. On arrival the owners were waiting to meet us. Unfortunately at the time of arrival there was a power cut. But the owners couldn’t have done enough to help. They had lit the log burner for the hottub. Provided us with temporary lights and they promised if the power had come on soon they would be making us an evening meal. Thankfully the power did come back on shortly after. The cabin we stayed in was really nice. Very clean and very private apart from the duck pond and chicken coop. The bathroom was modern and very clean. The location was perfect for a quiet weekend away. Not too far from major town like Whitby which we visited. The local pub/restaurant was really nice and friendly. And only a few minute walk. The hottub was perfect. Once the log burner was going it didn’t take too long to heat up to temperature. For a nice relaxing night with a float for drinks and we were really lucky to have a clear night sky. The night sky was amazing to look at and even managed to locate Jupiter and Uranus with the help of a phone app! We highly recommend staying here and we would happily come back again in the future.
