Youngblood Farm

They describe two decades of grass farming: intensively managed daily rotations, genetics selected for southern grass production, and a flat rule that no ruminant animal on the farm is fed grain. Their historical focus is beef cattle, now joined by sheep, a garden and orchard programme, and eight beehives whose honey is the main sugar at the farm table.

The dairy side milks Jersey cows from grass genetics, tested A2/A2 for the past twelve years. Cows raise their own calves, are penned in the evening and milked once each morning, eating improving grasses, free choice mineral and alfalfa pellets at milking time. Raw, A2/A2, grass fed milk is sold from the farm, alongside freezer beef and other offerings.
