Mountain Goat Lodge

We had such a wonderful experience at Mountain Goat Lodge! I stayed overnight with my two boys, and everything exceeded our expectations. Our room was beautiful, comfortable, and full of charm. The breakfast was absolutely amazing. We enjoyed eggs Benedict, delicious goat milk lattes, and hot cocoa, which was a special treat. After breakfast, we were given a tour of the farm where we learned about the animals and got a closer look at daily life on the farm. What made our stay truly memorable was the hospitality. Our hosts were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and kind to both me and my boys. They made us feel right at home and created an experience that was both relaxing and educational. I highly recommend Mountain Goat Lodge to anyone looking for a unique and memorable getaway. It's the perfect blend of comfort, great food, farm life, and genuine hospitality. We can't wait to come back!

What’s not to say about Mountain Goat Lodge. It has such a warm inviting atmosphere. The owners D’arcy and Gina are so kind and are wonderful hosts. D’arcy while up an awesome Caramel macchiato while Gina makes the most amazing breakfasts! I wish we had more time here. We drove from Maryland to spend a few days here and then are heading to another destination. All of their animals 2 dogs Layla and Sooki and cat Alice are so sweet! Didn’t get to really meet the goats, chickens and cows since we were literally on the go. Will definitely be back to visit again!

Just spent 3 nights with Gina and Darcy and was a wonderful experience. 7am coffee and chit chat with other guests was great. Breakfast at 8am was delicious and farm fresh. Highly recommend the Princeton room for its views.

Cannot recommend Mountain Goat Lodge highly enough. The hotel was incredibly cozy, with comfortable beds, spacious rooms, board games and books to borrow, and lots of space to hang out inside or out- my husband and I enjoyed playing chess in the upstairs sitting area, reading in the armchairs, and sitting on the porch to watch the hummingbirds. It was fun walking around the farm to meet the animals and admire the beautiful views. But the hosts are what make this b&b truly stand out. Darcy and Gina went above and beyond during our stay, accommodating a last minute change to our reservation, an early check-in, a to-go breakfast, and even helping us get to the bus station on time when our ride fell through. Not to mention they were extremely warm, friendly, and interesting people to talk to. They are also great cooks! Breakfast (farm fresh eggs, homemade granola, goat milk yogurt) was delicious, as were the coffee and tea they prepared for us. We travel a lot, and this is without a doubt one of our favorite places we have stayed. We hope to plan another trip to Salida just to stay here again!

Let me be very clear that this is the highest review I could give for any establishment I've ever stayed at. First, let me explain how horrible guests we were: - We booked too many dates on our reservation, more than we could actually stay there. - We showed up earlier than the reservation allowed. - We wanted a breakfast earlier than the breakfast that they served, and we failed to make appropriate accommodations to leave to get to our flights on time. The host helped us with all of the above, and with a ton of grace, they refunded the days that we had booked but couldn't stay. They accommodated us when we showed up early. They made us an early-to-go breakfast that was delicious, and they went to incredible lengths to get us to a bus on time to get to Denver. Not to mention, the facility was beautiful. The goats, chickens, and llama were very fun, and we loved every minute of our stay. Cannot recommend highly enough.

Stayed in the teepee which was great. The bathroom facilities offered left a lot to be desired and there was a strong propane smell from the tank stored inside the restroom to supply the water heater. No floor mats for shower, no paper towels offered. Bed was very comfortable.

The Mountain Goat Lodge is the perfect mountain get-away. My daughter and I stayed 3 nights. The rooms are so cozy, and the breakfasts are DELICIOUS! My daughter really like the coffee drinks that the hosts created. We loved to walk on the trail around the property after breakfast and visit with the animals - especially the goats! They were so cute, and funny! During the days we went into the littel towns near by and also to some local hot springs. I hope to do this trip again!

The nicest people, nicest place, cleanest restrooms & bedrooms we have stayed in for traveling 3weeks. Absolute amazing breakfast & espresso! They have a small farm to kitchen food. Fresh eggs & goat milk made this an amazing difference in just a hotel/lodge or just another rental. The beds are so comfy! Super clean bathrooms, super relaxing living room space. It was an absolute pleasure to meet & stay. A+++

Guna and Darcy are wonderful hosts. They run a truly amazing B&B in Salida. Its a working goat farm. Layla is sweet hard working guard dog. We stayed in one of the campers and had an absolute wonderful time. Its was quiet and romantic in the camper. Cozy and comfortable. Gina makes the best goat milk yogurt! The Huevos Rancheros she made one morning was incredible! We are anxious for our next visit! Larry and loved our time there.

We stayed at the Mountain Goat Lodge Bed & Breakfast in May, 2026, on Highway 285 and is easy to find. We had a wonderful time with wonderful hosts! We enjoyed petting the baby goats, feeding the chickens, ducks, turkeys, and Violet the cow! You can sit out on the deck and watch the many variety of hummingbirds drink from all the feeders. There is a hot tub that overlooks the mountains. There is a library upstairs in the lodge with a desk, chairs, books to read, games to play, and artwork to admire. You do not want to miss breakfast! Breakfast is served every morning from 8: 00-9: 00. It was homemade and delicious! Gina made the best apple dumplings, in fact, she is a wonderful chef! The yogurt made from goat's milk was the best I have ever had, and is served with a variety of fresh fruit. Juice and Coffee are available. Also, you can request any type of coffee drinks like espresso or latte, and D'Arcy will make it for you. We met wonderful guests at breakfast every morning and enjoyed our conversations. Our 3 day stay was so relaxing and fun, that I am going back with my daughter and granddaughter to Mountain Goat Lodge!

Cannot say enough good things about our stay here! This was our second time renting a tipi here- the bed is very comfortable, has a great view of the farm, woken up by the sounds of the farm birds and got to go watch their very friendly farmhand milk the goats the next morning (he let us try to hand milk too!). The food was delicious and we loved sitting on the porch watching the baby goats play and all the hummingbirds flying around. The owners are very friendly and make you feel welcome right away. Will be going back in the fall so our kids can enjoy this magical place!

What a beautiful setting for our peaceful, relaxing stay! You both make perfect welcoming hosts, and we couldn't have enjoyed ourselves more. The cheese making class was fun and informative, and we even got to take the results home with us. (And yes, I'm remembering to flip "Guido" each day!) Your memorable breakfasts and the bonus time we spent with you Sunday afternoon just put it over the top! Give our best to David, too, and all the friendly goats we got to meet.
