Skip set out in 2011 to grow his farm a different way and built Skip's Farm to Market to sell local food. After running shops in Basalt and Silt he closed both and now concentrates on the farm and the Fruita market.
Skip's Farm to Market is a year round farmers market and specialty grocery in Fruita, Colorado stocking small batch, locally produced food from small farms and ranches.
Skip's Farm to Market is a small year round farmers market and specialty grocery in Fruita, Colorado, at the forefront of the local food movement.
The focus is on small farms and ranches that value sustainable agriculture, giving the town a consistent place to buy small batch, locally produced, high quality food.
The shop is on East Aspen Avenue and opens Monday to Saturday, 10am to 6pm. The farmers and makers behind the shelves are treated as partners, and you can read about each of them on the market's website.

Found this lovely little gem when I was looking for a local produce in the area when I was passing by, I will definitely recommend to anyone in the area that's visiting or passing by to stop by here first and support the local produce. It will taste so much better than chain grocery stores, and they are highly knowledgeable where all their stuff comes from! We'll definitely always stock up when I'm in the area and can! Also look at these eggs, those are some happy, healthy chickens! Oh yea! They also carry High Desert Seeds which are adapted for our area, I always order mine but it's nice to see somewhere selling them and they grow great in Colorado and are adapted for out region.
Great selections!

We do not hold prices, availability, parking, access details or event dates for Skips Farm To Market. The farm answers those directly on its own site, by phone or by email.
Cute little shop with unusual finds in Fruita. Love that they have local teas, produce, meat and other items.
Skip’s is such a quality of life upgrade for Fruita. City Market has its place and saves my buns with late night shopping but Kroger’s produce is pretty bad most of the time. Skip’s has a wide variety of quality products, produce and meats. I really appreciate all of their local options. It’s so important we localize our food production and purchasing from nearby farmers is such a huge part of that process. Nice, informative folks as well. I enjoy going into the store.
What an amazing place to buy local produce and products. Very helpful and courteous staff. Thanks! I'll be back.
Excellent place for organic groceries and local produce. We stoped by while driving east on the I-70 and the store was an easy stop off the freeway.
Great healthy stop on a long road trip!! So tasty and reasonably priced.
