Magnolia Hill Farm at Ethel, Louisiana keeps a registered dairy goat herd and sells raw goat milk, goat milk soap and sourdough starter kits.
Magnolia Hill Farm is Sarah Hill's small farm in the rolling hills of the Felicianas at Ethel, Louisiana, established in 2018.
She keeps a dual registered ADGA and AGS dairy goat herd, Nigerian Dwarf alongside Nubian, Lamancha and their mini crosses, together with free range laying hens. The goats are bred for health, milk production, docile temperament and proper structure, and the herd is published openly by name, senior does, junior does and bucks, with the breeding schedule and the goats currently available to buy.
Raw goat milk from the herd is sold by the half gallon and the gallon, in a returnable glass jar or in plastic, for pickup on the farm and at the Home on Magnolia Hill shop at 9511 Plank Road in Clinton. The same milk goes into all natural handmade goat milk soap, in classic unscented, citrus cedarwood, and raw honey and oatmeal, and Sarah sells her own sourdough starter as a kit in a Weck jar or as a dried packet. Soap and sourdough are posted out, and the starter kits are also stocked by Calvin's Bocage Market and Red Stick Spice Company in Baton Rouge, The Banten House Tea Room in Jackson, Mayfield's Mercantile in Denham Springs, and Hap's Cajun Meats and Market in League City, Texas.
