AKM Farm Market and Dairy

Michael grew up raising dairy cows through the Dutchess County 4H programme, and the couple's herd is currently two milking cows, Luna and Juno, with three young heifers coming on. The cows have access to pasture and are mainly grass fed, supplemented with some grain, and the farm also raises registered Alpine and Nubian dairy goats.

The farm holds a New York State raw milk licence, with its milking equipment and milk quality monitored by the State Department of Agriculture and Markets and regular visits from Quality Milk Production Services. The on farm market sells raw cow milk, raw goat milk and fresh chicken eggs alongside locally sourced Hudson Valley products, from beef, pork and chicken to breads, yogurt, cheese and seasonal produce. It is open every day, and visitors are welcome to meet the animals.
