I didn't plan to buy anything but came out with a carrier bag of goodies.
OMG! Just the most wonderful selection ot local and artisan foods, not the usual stuff you'd find in a farm shop, but products made in their own farm.
Cheeses and yoghurts from their own dairy, plenty of local fresh produce and bakery items, a wonderful deli counter, just about every you need to stock your food cupboards and all top quality. It's probably the best farm shop I have ever shopped at.
We only visited the farm shop, so this review is specifically for that. We really loved the farm shop, it was massive, had loads of great products and price wise it seemed quite reasonable. We would definitely go back. The only downside was that when we got home and unpacked the shopping my children immediately wanted to eat the grapes. At which point we discovered that the middle and all the grapes underneath were completely mouldy. So they had to go in the bin. Which was extremely disappointing.
Rebuilding the food system, from the farm up
I actually love this place. And visit at least once a week. My friends and family know how much I love it that they brought me a £400 gift voucher to spend. I made a visit and was disappointed when I was told that I could not carry my 8 week old puppy in my arms through the store to do my Easter shop. No visible or obvious signs, so had to be told at the door which was utterly embarrassing. And I know the only response will be “THANKS FOR THE FEEDBACK” rubbish. Unfortunately I won’t be coming back any time soon. I’ll wait and spend the voucher some other time then find another place to shop. Which is a shame, they have great food and local produce. FYI. you can’t take dogs in the garden centre either!!!
We have just been to this place for lunch with my disabled friend She walks with crutches. The whole place is filthy from the disabled toilet to the floor and ceiling in the restaurant. It is the most disabled unfriendly garden centre we have ever been to. To access the restaurant you go through double doors this is not an exit. To exit the place you need to walk through the indoor plant center, the gift section, up a concrete ramp through another section selling bits and pieces for your garden, past the tills. You exit next to the same double doors you entered!!!!! See pictures.The manager told me she had cleaned the accessible toilet 10 mins beforehand. 😅
Priory Farm has a wonderful selection of food. The butchery is magnificent. At Christmas the range of chocolate and other festive foods is amazing. The bread is fresh and locally baked. There is also The Shepherds Hut Cafe which has an unusual range of delicious toasties and sweet treats. With very good coffee. The gift shop is great for that elusive gift or greetings card.
Great value at £5 per person for this amazing 2 hr outdoor sculpture trail geared at younger children. Not a bored kid in sight and just as enjoyable for adults with spectacular views over the Surrey hills area of outstanding natural beauty. Plus a lovely cafe, farmshop and nursery at the end of the walk. Amazing and well worth the trip.
