I've been getting all my eggs & most of my meat here for about a month. If you're in the Nampa area, I'd definitely recommend them. Everything tastes SO much better than store bought. Prices are very fair too, especially considering the quality. Added bonus of supporting local business instead of corporations.
Sharon & Rick were excellent Harvest Hosts! So very friendly and inviting to their farm. You can feed the goats and sheep snacks they provide. Their grass-fed beef was delicious, especially the filet mignon. We bought many cuts of the beef, but not lamb as we don't like lamb. But I'm sure it would be delicious as you can see the animals are free to roam and graze as nature intended. Farm fresh eggs are also delicious and priced reasonably. We had a great time with the animals and a nice quiet overnight with our 42ft motorhome, which fit easily into their large, gravel driveway. We disconnected our toad for better maneuverability. Generator usage allowed and some potable water available. A great place!
Rebuilding the food system, from the farm up
I have been getting two dozen eggs a week from GFF since May and I couldn't be happier with the quality and service received. These eggs are local (to the Boise area), ethically raised, reasonably priced, and most of all delicious. You can tell just how happy these chickens are from the color of the yolks! Store-bought eggs of this quality are often significantly more expensive. Additionally, all my interactions with the Gutierrez Family have been nothing but pleasant. Thank you for making sustainable foods more accessible!
This is a cool place to bring the grandchildren to interact with farm animals and to experience a small bit of the Farming Life. Our grandsons who are both teenagers really enjoyed it as did my brother's younger granddaughters. None of them had ever really stroked a horse, cow or sheep before or collected chicken eggs so it was quite a new experience for them. The Guttierrez family are very proud of their grass fed beef and lambs and enlightened us to exactly how much care and attention is taken to produce their stress free meat products and healthy free-range chicken eggs. We have enjoyed their grass fed steaks and lamb chops very much and their eggs actually taste like eggs should taste with big yellow yolks. So much better then the pale imitations from the supermarket. I am not usually that successful when cooking steaks on the BBQ but Sharon's steaks almost make me look like I know what I am doing! Will definitely stop there again next time we are in the Boise area.
