Serenity Farm is a 40 acre family farm at Sedgwick, Kansas growing chemical free produce over four CSA seasons and selling pastured eggs, turkey and baked goods from its own farm store.
Serenity Farm is a 40 acre family farm near Sedgwick, Kansas, three miles west of I-135 between Newton and Wichita.
Brad and Tiffany Dilts run it with their eight children. The ground was farmed conventionally until about 20 years ago, though it never carried GMOs, and since then the family has worked to heal and regenerate the soil with cover crops, crop rotation, compost and manure. They held organic certification for commodity crops and dropped it over cost and complexity while keeping the methods, growing over forty chemical free vegetables from non-GMO and mostly heirloom seed, alongside a small orchard of peaches and pears. High tunnels keep fresh greens coming right through the winter.
The harvest goes out through four CSA seasons a year, from spring lettuce, broccoli and peas to fall greens and winter squash, and through an on farm store open 9am to 9pm, seven days a week. Hens forage out on pasture for the deep orange eggs, and the family also raises Freedom Ranger chickens, a slow growing breed fed organic non-GMO grain and moved to fresh pasture every day, butchered at 12 to 14 weeks rather than the 6 to 8 weeks of a supermarket bird. The online store carries turkey, bacon, baked goods and pantry goods such as sandhill plum jam, with local home delivery on Wednesday afternoons and free delivery on orders over $35. Grass fed and finished beef is listed on the farm's own site as coming soon rather than on sale.

I was happy with my first order. Easy to place online order and they dropped it off the next delivery day. Pretty easy process. Surprisenly difficult to find local ground organic flour, so pleased they sell it. I also ordered some bread, makes great toast with some real butter but not great sandwich bread. My favorite thing I ordered was the limeade. It's perfect amount of tart and sweet. I definately recommend that. The whole process was great. Produce delivered right to my door. I will be ordering from them again. Update: After buying from them for awhile now, I still absolutely love them. I mean, getting fresh organics delivered free to my door. That's just awesome. They seem to mix well with the Farmer's Market selection. They sell a lot of harder to find items like celery, turnips, and more variety of peppers. The hybrid tomatoes they are selling right now make a crazy good sauce. Might be my best sauce I've ever had. I buy a bit extra every order to can up for later. With organics I feel better about what I'm cooking and preserving. Thanks for helping to feed my family.
