Hart Farm is a 160 acre family farm in Holden, Maine growing MOFGA Certified Organic vegetables and raising pastured pork and grass fed beef, with CSA shares, farm dinners and a Bangor market stall.
Hart Farm is a 160 acre first generation family farm at 430 Copeland Hill Road in Holden, Maine, run by Andrew and Becky Toothacker, who met as apprentices studying Biodynamic agriculture and bought the historic farm in 2019, keeping its original name to honour the Hart family.
They produce MOFGA Certified Organic vegetables and raise pastured pork and grass fed beef for the Greater Bangor area, viewing the farm as one functioning organism of fields, soils, plants, animals, compost and people.
The farm runs a ten week Summer CSA and a six week Fall CSA with flexible on farm pickups, u pick produce, and a subsidised share fund that reserves a tenth of membership for neighbours who need support, no income verification asked. Farrow to finish heritage pigs are raised on pasture, pork sells as butcher boxes and hog shares, and the family also hosts farm dinners and a Sunday stall at the Bangor Farmers Market. Hart Farm Trails is a wonderful spot for a peaceful walk through beautiful farmland. The trails wind through open fields and wooded areas, offering a variety of routes that let you customize the length of your walk. You can keep it short or go for the full loop, which is just a couple of miles—perfect for an easy afternoon outing. The scenery changes with the seasons, making it a great place to visit year-round. Highly recommend for anyone looking to enjoy a quiet escape in nature.

Beautiful place! There are a variety of trails to choose from based on how long you want to be out there. I don't believe any are very strenuous, I walked for about two hours without breaking a sweat. There's so much to see and I'm so glad I went!
