Great stop for some delicious and fresh goat cheese.
Siobhan and co are a pleasure to work with. Great place to visit and incredible cheese. Would recommend visiting.
Amazing products at this farm and factory! However don鈥檛 go unannounced as they do not do many tours anymore. Great cheese, specially the karst!
The experience last year was wonderful, the owner was a sweetheart and the cheese was amazing, it was my first time really experiencing goat cheese and its not ym favorite kind of cheese. Bought a few logs to fly back home with me. Only one log made it back. 馃槄 and the goats were just the cutest. 馃グ
Absolutely amazing cheese!
Fabulous Company. I emailed to ask a question and Siobhan came back with excellent advice. The St Tolas cheese is the only cheese we will buy. Thank you Siobhan 馃槉
We did a private tour with the cheese tasting and had a wonderful time! The farm is well maintained and it was fascinating to learn about the day to day that goes into cheese making. The barn is immaculate (for a goat farm) and it is clear that the cheese is being made in the most ethical way possible. We also really enjoyed having the opportunity tour the milking parlor, it was so interesting! The cheese tasting was so delicious! I really can't describe how delicious this cheese is. Thank you for letting us tour your beautiful farm!
The tour was super fun and informative. The guide also was also a fellow cider nerd so we collectively shared our sickness of bolmers... and then received some good alternatives. The tour is a bit expensive but not so much if you divide amongst a larger group. My wife and I love goats and love cheese so we just went for it and weren't disappointed. Many of the goats enjoyed getting pets. One even demanded it!
St Tola is a goat farm and farmhouse cheese dairy near Inagh, Co. Clare, milking its own herd of about 300 goats on 65 acres of herb rich pasture.
St Tola is a goat farm and cheese dairy at Gortbofearna, near Inagh, on the southern edge of the Burren. Around 300 goats of the Saanen, Toggenburg and British Alpine breeds live on 65 acres of herb rich pasture, grazing wild flowers such as buttercups, meadowsweet and wild garlic, and eating hay grown on the farm through the winter. About 200 of them are milked twice a day. Cheese has been made in this townland since the early 1980s, and Siobhan Ni Ghairbhith has run the business since 1999.
Everything is still made by hand in small batches in the dairy on the farm. The range runs from the fresh St Tola Log and the ash coated log to a Greek style cheese kept in brine, small crottins, the harder Karst, and jars of cheese in rapeseed oil with chilli, garlic or garden herbs. Cheese can be bought straight from the farm on weekdays, and the farm runs tours that take in the milking parlour and the goats.
