Sliabh Aughty Honey is the Leahy family's fourth generation apiary near Loughrea in County Galway, Ireland, selling raw unpasteurised Irish honey, heather honey, comb honey and bee pollen.
Sliabh Aughty Honey is made by the Leahy family, beekeepers for four generations, from hives near and on the slopes of the Sliabh Aughty Mountains near Loughrea in east Galway.
Local flora gives the honey its own sweetness, and every jar is 100 per cent raw and full of natural antioxidants.
The range takes in wildflower, heather, comb, section and hot honeys, with bee pollen and propolis besides. Everything can be ordered from the online shop, and the family also runs bee tours from their home place at Carrowmore. The shop is open Tuesday to Saturday, 10am to 6pm.

Beautiful tasting raw natural honey.

A wonderful tour and education on beekeeping and the workings of these amazing little animals. Noel was very knowledgeable and answered all our questions. The bees and how the hive works is truly a wonder. Noel then showed us how the honey is made ready for market and we also had a tasting of the honeys he produces – which really demonstrated the differences in flavours attainable. Would really recommend the tour and meeting Noel. We were made to feel so welcome and it is clear he has a great love for these little insects and their remarkable work.
