Incredible variety of local products, great place!
Wonderful idea and a wonderful atmosphere it was delightful to see a farm selling fresh produce directly to the public without the requirements of a supermarket. I think this is the way forward,
Inspiring regenerative farm here in county Galway on our door step. I met a friend for a sauna ice bath session and we all really enjoyed it. A lovely social experience. Great sauna facilities. Picked up some local produce in their Farm Shop after.. we had a walk around their farm and wow... absolutely breaktaking.. the quality of produce been grown here is phenomenal. I made an omelet from their eggs when I got home. Huge credit to the founders for creating such a great facility for the community and environment. 100% worth visiting.. easy booking system on their website.
Great selection of home grown vegetables as well as some locally sourced produce.
Lovely event space, favours staff and great sauna. Plus the food is amazing. Highly recommend it.
What a wonderful surprise. As you drive along the old Dublin Rd from Craughwell to Loughrea. You wonder what鈥檚 going on in roadside fields with lots of poles in them. I don鈥檛 know what they are for but you get drawn in by the signs for Mad Yolk Farm. Delicious eggs and locally grown veg and other sustainability produced products. Plus! A sauna!! And plunge pool! Mad it is! Brilliant also. Must stop, eat, dip!! Just do it.
Love the concept. Raw milk and raw yogurt were sold out. Got myself some eggs and garlic. You can pay by QR code or cash.
Mad Yolk Farm is absolute gem of a place - from local fresh organic veg and eggs that you can buy in the honesty shop (along with bread, honey, milk and lots of other local products) to amazing events that are held in the event space and of course the sauna - my personal favourite! It's such an asset to local community and anyone visiting, I recommend it to anyone like I'm on a commission 馃ぃ And if you bump into Brian, the guy who owns it you'll realise how much heart and soul is behind it all, it's such a labour of love and it really shows. Heads up - if you visit once, you'll want to come back all the time!
I am so glad our family found this place. I selfishly want to keep it a secret. The eggs and produce are so fresh and tasty.
Mad Yolk Farm is a regenerative farm at Knockroe, Craughwell, Co. Galway, with an honesty farm shop selling its own pasture raised eggs, vegetables and raw milk.
Brian Dilleen is a first generation farmer from Galway City who trained in regenerative farming in Sweden with Richard Perkins, then moved his farm to Knockroe, near Craughwell, in 2020. Laying hens are the heart of it. They live in mobile housing that is moved across pasture so the birds keep regenerating the ground they scratch over, and their eggs are what the farm is known for. Alongside them Brian grows chemical free vegetables in polytunnels and a market garden.
The farm shop is an honesty shop, open from 9am to 9pm every day of the year. It carries the farm's own eggs and seasonal vegetables, raw organic milk from Gleann Bui Farm in Mayo, sourdough from Granum Bakehouse, and goat's cheese, honey, ferments, kombucha, flowers and soap from other local makers. There is also a wood fired sauna, a sensory garden, and space for classes and small retreats.
