Raw milk!!
Great products, great environment, and great people! Highly recommend!
I drive over an hour to stock up on their raw milk! Great quality and reasonable price. The store renovation is also awesome!! My kids love looking at everything while I shop.
Lots of great items in the store and ice cream. Fresh meat from the farm and very friendly.
High quality meat, frozen meals, and ice cream.
Hidden outside of town. Great selection of fresh beef. And ice-cream.
Some of the best folks you'll ever be grace with speaking to. Be best dairy, and sheesh, what amazing Jersey breed beef, Berkshire hog (best pork chops I've ever eaten) and the sweetest goat and lamb to land on my plate. I've missed the ice cream, but I hear tell it is amazing.
An amazing store with an amazing legacy. A must stop when you’re in Fairbury. Matthew, Jenna and Arlene were all wonderful. We loved it!!
I've heard so much about this place. First off I have never been a fan of Gelato but their raspberry cheesecake gelato is phenomenal. Can't wait to go back and get more. They have raw milk, meats, cheeses, freezer meals, old fashioned glass bottled sodas, decor, it's just a 5 minute f drive from the center of Fairbury. They have honey too and soaps that are made by someone who uses their milk.... P.S. I went back the next day for more Raspberry Cheesecake Gelato!!
Very much worth the drive from Dwight. Excellent products and a great atmosphere. The ribeye steaks were the best I've ever had, the quality is so much better than the grocery store ribeye's. The selection of fresh dairy products is amazing. I will definitely be making the trip to load up again.
We found ourselves in Fairbury at that famous used clothing store and I had a lot of extra time and we went to Kilgus Farmstead and country store on our way back to Peoria. What a wonderful stop. My two favorite items was the chocolate milk and we bought some pork patties for breakfast tomorrow.
Kilgus Farmstead is a fourth generation Jersey dairy in Fairbury, Illinois selling licensed raw milk at its Country Store alongside creamline milk, Jersey beef, Berkshire pork and goat meat.
Kilgus Farmstead is a fourth generation family farm in Fairbury, central Illinois, milking about 160 registered Jersey cows and bottling the milk in its own on farm creamery since 2009. The family converted over 50 acres of former corn and soybean ground into 17 grazing paddocks of rye, orchard grass and clover for seasonal rotational grazing, and the milk is hormone free, from cows never treated with rBST. Raw milk is sold under an Illinois raw milk licence, in gallon and half gallon jugs, only at the farm's Country Store.
Alongside the raw and creamline pasteurised, non homogenised milk, the farm raises Jersey and Jersey Angus cross steers, Berkshire hogs and Boer goats for a line of farmstead meats, sold at the store and supplied to shops and restaurants across central and northern Illinois. Farm tours show visitors the animals and the on site bottling operation, and the Country Store reopened in a new, larger retail space in 2025.
