Purchased a tenderloin, rib eye and 2 packages of steak tips at the farmers market from them. And it's gotta be some of the toughest meat I've ever had, truly disappointed. Have gotten much tender of grassfed meats from Hannafords for much less money.
Amazing meats, chicken.
Cooked a meatloaf with the ground beef tonight. There is nothing as good as fresh grass fed beef. I added some potatoes from the farms gardens for a wonderful comfort meal. Keep up the good work guys!
I picked up a quarter chicken from their store. This had to be the best tasting chicken I have had in a very long time! The meat was so tender and moist and had a taste I have never experienced before. It must be due to the freshness of the meat. The steak I had was also very very tasty. I cannot wait to try the lamb tips I picked up. Once you buy here you won't be disappointed!
Depot Street Meats and Dairy at L.D. Farms in Jay, Maine sells 100 percent grass fed and finished Belted Galloway beef, pastured lamb, poultry and licensed raw goat and cow dairy from its farm store.
Depot Street Meats and Dairy is the farm store of L.D. Farms, a family owned farm in Franklin County, Maine, selling from 29 Depot Street in Jay and from twice weekly stalls at the Farmington farmers markets. The farm raises 100 percent grass fed, grass finished Belted Galloway beef with no antibiotics and no hormones, Maine state inspected, alongside pastured Katahdin lamb, heritage poultry and fresh chicken and duck eggs.
The farm is also a fully licensed Maine dairy for the sale of raw milk and dairy products, with everything tested monthly. Raw whole goat milk comes from its own herd of registered Guernsey goats, primarily grass fed and supplemented with local grains, and is made into a soft spreadable chevre, kefir, yogurt and cow and goat milk cheeses, with a Normande milk cow named Liberty and two Normande heifers from an all grass fed organic herd joining the milking line. A new double milking station serves the goats, and registered Guernsey goat kids are sold from a published kidding schedule.
