J & A Sunrise Farms is a family owned and operated farm at Bailey in western Michigan, offering herd shares for raw milk alongside pasture raised meat, eggs and an on farm store.
The milking herd is on rotational pasture through the summer and fed hay and non GMO grain over the winter, and the family says demand for their raw milk has blown them away. Their beef, chicken, lamb and pork are locally raised and processed, GMO free and grass fed.
The on farm store also stocks goods from local producers striving for healthy, non toxic living, from foods to hand made gifts and natural living options. The family of five is active in the daily chores, raising, in their own words, their human herd to understand the dedication and privilege of growing fresh, whole, natural food. The store opens Wednesday daytime, Thursday evening and Saturday, with herd share enquiries welcomed by phone or email.

This was our first herdshare experience, and we couldn't be more pleased. Amanda is amazing to do business with, and the milk is an incredible value. Everything was unfailing in quality, cleanliness and honesty. After nearly 2 years, we couldn't be more pleased.
I want to give a shout out to the place i get my Raw Milk from....first off they have Gurnsey cows who produce the highest quality milk....all grass fed....they go the extra mile to use glass bottles instead of plastic....they know all their cows by name...i love their milk....cant get enough!
We've been blessed to be a part of the raw milk share for a couple of years. My family doesn't tolerate store bought milk, so it has been wonderful to be able to drink and use milk to enrich home cooking. My husband had a severe stomach ulcer and we believe raw milk is what kept his nutrient levels high while he was healing. We love being able to pick up local goods at the store, like honey and candles. The grass fed beef and pasture raised pork are amazing! We always pick up steaks for my dad and like to use their chorizo often. The owners are kind and clearly pour all of their hearts into their work!
