Everything is grown in soil, never hydroponically, without synthetic fertilisers, pesticides, herbicides or GMOs, and pastured chickens and sheep rotate through the fields as part of the soil health plan. • 3Woodbridge Dairy FarmWoodbridge Dairy FarmRaw milk farm in Byron Center5 (29 reviews)Woodbridge Dairy Farm is a family dairy farm in Byron Center, Michigan, run by John and Karin Uebbing. The herd grazes on a fresh paddock every 12 hours during the growing season, and the land has been chemical free since 2004. The farm sells fresh, unprocessed whole milk, known on the farm as raw milk, through weekly cow herd shares, alongside A2/A2 genetics, grass fed beef and milk fed pork sold as monthly meat shares. Ducks and chickens are kept free range for eggs and seasonal pasture raised chicken. Herd share milk and meat shares are collected from the on farm Growshery Haus store, open Friday afternoons and Saturday mornings, or shipped weekly within Michigan through the MI Milk Mail programme. The farm also runs seasonal farm tours and classes for its herd share community. Woodbridge was certified organic from 2018 to 2020 and still farms to that standard, choosing not to renew the paperwork.
  • 4J & A Sunrise FarmsJ & A Sunrise FarmsRaw milk farm in Bailey5 (21 reviews)J & A Sunrise Farms is a family owned and operated farm at Bailey in western Michigan, offering herd shares for raw milk alongside pasture raised meat, eggs and an on farm store. The milking herd is on rotational pasture through the summer and fed hay and non GMO grain over the winter, and the family says demand for their raw milk has blown them away. Their beef, chicken, lamb and pork are locally raised and processed, GMO free and grass fed. The on farm store also stocks goods from local producers striving for healthy, non toxic living, from foods to hand made gifts and natural living options. The family of five is active in the daily chores, raising, in their own words, their human herd to understand the dedication and privilege of growing fresh, whole, natural food. The store opens Wednesday daytime, Thursday evening and Saturday, with herd share enquiries welcomed by phone or email.
  • 5Six S DairySix S DairyRaw milk farm in Sand Lake4.8 (22 reviews)Six S Dairy is a family farm and self serve farm store at Sand Lake in Michigan, run by Brent and Jenny Skelonc with their children. The family write that after their youngest daughter was born with a rare genetic syndrome they wanted to get back to their roots and raise their children in the atmosphere a farm provides. They believe happy, well cared for animals raised on pasture, fresh air and sunshine make the healthiest food, and they say the whole farm revolves around those practices. The farm sells 100 percent grass fed, lab tested raw milk, grass fed beef, pastured pork and chicken, and free range eggs. Visitors arrive to hens wandering the yard and cows grazing in the pasture, and the farm says everything in its store came from healthy animals raised on fresh air and sunshine. You can shop the self serve store during its posted hours or place a bulk order to stock a freezer. Six S Dairy also runs farmer mentoring and publishes a free guide, 10 Questions to Ask When Choosing a Raw Milk Farmer.
  • 6MarGro FarmMarGro FarmRaw milk farm in Ceresco4.8 (19 reviews)MarGro Farms is a family dairy at Ceresco, Michigan that supplies fresh unprocessed whole milk through a herd share. Because raw milk cannot be sold outright in Michigan, members buy a share in a cow and collect the milk their animal produces, and the family write regularly about raw milk on the farm blog. Alongside the dairy they offer freezer beef, milk fed pork and duck eggs, and they host farm visits and events. Herd shares are temporarily closed to new owners while the family manages a transfer of ownership, though you can email Rachel with questions and join the list for when they reopen.

Their stated goal is simple, the best tasting, cleanest fresh milk possible.
  • 8Thundering Oak HighlandsThundering Oak HighlandsRaw milk farm in Otsego5 (13 reviews)Thundering Oak is a small family farm in Otsego, Michigan, established in December 2006 by Eric and Gwen Conarton and named after their very first Highland steer, Thunder, and the big oak tree on the farm. They use organic practices to raise grass fed beef, grass fed raw cow milk, free range chicken eggs and free range chicken, and visitors are welcome to come out, look around and become members. Since October 2022 the farm has operated as a Private Member Association, so products go to members only. Milk comes through a herd share: members lease an interest in the cow herd of sweet Jerseys, gorgeous Guernseys and some Shorthorns, and receive a gallon a week per share, packaged in glass half gallon jars. The herd is 100 percent A2/A2. In a LocalHarvest review a customer wrote that the milk is great and that Eric and Gwen practice extreme care in producing a sanitary, delicious product.

  • 11Jenny's Goat MilkJenny's Goat MilkRaw milk farm in Petersburg5 (5 reviews)Jenny's Goat Milk is a small family farm at Petersburg in south east Michigan. Jenny has been keen on goats since the 1980s, when she studied dairy science at the University of Guelph in Canada. She started the farm in 2024 with a couple of goats and has grown the herd since, adding an automated milking and filtration system. Everything happens on the one farm, from pasture to bottle. The milk is filtered but still raw, and it goes out through a herdshare that has run since 2024. Jenny handles every sale herself, by text, by email or through the form on the site, so members contact her directly to arrange fresh or frozen milk. Fresh milk keeps about seven days in the fridge and frozen milk up to two months, and buyers must be eighteen to sign the herdshare agreement. The farm now also sells quail birds and quail eggs to its existing milk customers.

Sustainable practice runs through the whole operation, and stewardship of the ground is treated as part of the job rather than an afterthought. The farm sells meat and honey directly, and the gate is open Monday to Saturday from 9am to 5pm. There is no website, so ringing ahead is the best way to check what is in stock.
  • 13The farmer standing in the middle of the herd as the cows graze around her at golden hourPositively GrownRaw milk farm in Hopkins5 (4 reviews)Positively Grown is a family dairy farm in Hopkins, Michigan producing raw milk from cows raised on pasture. Because herdshares are the legal route to raw milk in Michigan, you buy a share in the herd and pay for the care of your portion, which entitles you to a weekly amount of the milk, bottled to order in glass. Members can add pastured eggs, raw honey and fresh baked bread from the farm's partners, and the farm also raises pastured beef of its own. Orders are collected fresh at the farm from Thursday to Monday, or from local drop sites chosen at checkout.

  • 15Faber FarmFaber FarmRaw milk farm in YaleFaber Farm is a family farm with an on farm store on Mason Road in Yale, Michigan, in the state's Thumb region. The store's own shop lists raw cow milk and raw goat milk, raw butter and raw honey, alongside chicken and duck eggs, whole chickens, turkeys, ducks and rabbits, dehydrated pet treats, fermented foods and a homemade dulce de leche. In Michigan raw milk moves through herd shares, so milk from the farm's Jersey cows and goats reaches households that hold a share in the herd. Google lists Faber Farm as a working farm at the Mason Road address with the same phone number the farm publishes.

Food from the farm comes as seasonal dairy goat herd shares and chicken egg shares from free range hens, with the soap available for farm pickup. Much of the site is experiences and services: goat cuddles, goat parties, goat grams, a lease a goat program and certified CAMELIDynamics consulting for llama and alpaca owners, which Carol has offered since completing a year long training under Marty McGee Bennett in 2022.

Alongside milk the farm offers heavy cream, eggs from hens ranged free on pasture, and cheese, yogurt and kefir making kits. Milk is collected at the farm or at weekly drop points around Jackson, Grass Lake, Chelsea and Leslie.
  • 19Sow Bountifully HomesteadSow Bountifully HomesteadRaw milk farm in Le RoySow Bountifully Homestead is a small family farm in LeRoy, northern Michigan, run by Joseph and Emma Shank, who moved to the land in spring 2022 after starting with a garden, a few chickens and some quail on a corner lot. Their aim, in their own words, is real food that actually nourishes your family: non GMO pastured pork, chicken and eggs, and raw dairy herd shares from grass fed Jersey cows. Everything is rotationally grazed. The dairy cows live out on pasture and receive only a small soy free, non GMO ration during milking. Meat chickens move daily to fresh grass after the brooder, laying hens free range inside netting that shifts to new ground, and the pigs live outside on pasture, rooting through soil and supplemented with non GMO feed, garden scraps and milk from the dairy cows. The couple describe nurturing the soil first so the land in turn nourishes the community.
  • 20Joyous AcresJoyous AcresRaw milk farm in FreeportJoyous Acres is a Nigerian Dwarf goat farm in Freeport, Michigan, where everything begins with care for the land, the animals and the people who bring its products home. The ADGA registered herd is tested every year for Johnes disease and CAE and has been disease free since 2019, and kids are raised through a mix of dam raising and bottle feeding so they grow up healthy and well socialised. From the milk the farm handcrafts natural soaps, lotions, candles and lip balms with no harsh chemicals. The farm runs a raw goat milk herdshare: members buy a fractional ownership in the dairy herd and collect their share of milk each Friday, from a quarter share of about a quarter gallon a week up to a full share of about a gallon. The milk is raw and unpasteurised, handed over in returnable glass jars. Joyous Acres also sells farm fresh chicken eggs and registered goats, and hosts goat visits, goat yoga and events on the farm.

Orders can also be placed online for pickup, and farm tours are by appointment.
  • 22Bonny Acres FarmBonny Acres FarmRaw milk farm in ThompsonvilleBonny Acres Farm is a first generation family farm in Benzie County, northern Michigan, where Cody and Emily Buchanan and their three girls put down roots after leaving metro Detroit. Since 2021 they have built up a garden, an egg and poultry operation and an A2/A2 dairy herdshare, farming with regenerative practices to organic standards, with no pesticides or herbicides and only natural fertilisers. The milk is unpasteurised, non homogenised A2/A2 from a small herd of two dairy cows, Liberty and Ginger, who live on pasture around the clock and eat carefully chosen non GMO or organic feed. Michigan law means you join the herdshare before buying dairy, and members pick up at the farm, with equipment sanitised between every milking and the milk filtered and in an ice bath within the hour. The farmhouse kitchen bakes sourdough from organic flour and pastries sweetened with maple, honey or coconut sugar rather than cane sugar, and a self serve farm stand is on the way. Visits are by appointment.
  • 23C & K FarmsC & K FarmsRaw milk farm in WolverineC & K Farms is a family dairy at Wolverine in northern Michigan, started in 2021 by Carey and Katelyn Bragg. Both are third generation farmers from the area, and Katelyn's grandfather ran a small dairy in Boyne City for many years. They began with dairy goats and chickens, then went looking for an A2/A2 dairy cow because neither of them can digest A1 milk, and their first cow, Peanut Butter, arrived in 2024. The herd is still small enough that every cow has a name, and it supplies raw A2/A2 milk through a legal Michigan herdshare, with pickup at the farm in Wolverine and a second drop at Bragg Family Farm in Gaylord. Their cows are out on natural grass pasture as much as possible, get a mix of hay and silage when pasture is not available in winter, and are given non GMO grain at milking time along with free choice minerals. Carey and Katelyn are also reclaiming farmland that had been left to grow over for decades, and they say regenerative farming is how they work rather than a buzz word. In 2025 they added a market garden, and in season they grow green beans, peas, zucchini, summer squash, chives and tomatoes, along with strawberries, blueberries, raspberries and peaches. All of it is grown on the farm at Wolverine, never sprayed, and fed with natural fertilisers. They sell produce and eggs at the farm and from a stand at the Wolverine Farmers Market through the summer, from 4:30pm to 7:30pm, where they also hand out raw milk samples. An online shop is on the way.
  • 24DeFord Homestead LLCDeFord Homestead LLCRaw milk farm in MasonDeFord Homestead LLC is a family farm on Curtice Road at Mason, Michigan, a short way south of Lansing. The family say the business began out of a love of family, farming and tradition, and that they set it up to carry on values and a way of life handed down through generations. They describe the farm as a legacy rather than a business, something they are building for their children, who are growing up surrounded by animals and agriculture. The farm is a member of the Farm to Consumer Legal Defense Fund. They sell their own farm raised beef by the quarter, half or whole cow, with pricing and availability arranged directly, and eggs from free range hens at five dollars a dozen. A cow share programme lets members buy a share in the herd and take a set amount of milk: a one gallon share is thirty dollars a month and a half gallon share is twenty dollars, on top of a one time buy in equal to a month's cost. Milk is collected at the homestead or at the Grand River Farmers Market in Jackson, and members are welcome to visit and meet the herd.
  • 25Alfresco Acres LLCAlfresco Acres LLCButcher in EvartAlfresco Acres is a farm at Evart in Michigan producing food free from preservatives, dyes and unnecessary additives. Jersey and Guernsey cows supply raw milk through a herdshare, run in partnership with the Farm to Consumer Legal Defense Team, while the pigs are pasture raised on local 100% organic feed and the beef herd is grass fed only. Chickens and Thanksgiving turkeys are organic fed and raised on pasture too. Milk is collected at the farm in half gallon glass jars, other products are picked up at the farm in Evart, and whole and half hogs and beef come from the processor in Rosebush, Michigan. Much of it sells out early, so the farm opens yearly pre-order lists in spring and runs a newsletter for availability.
