I get my eggs, meat, and veggies at this farm! You should definitely try their fennel chimichurri! So delicious!
We had SUCH a great time at Green Mountain Girls Farm. We helped move the sheep, collected eggs from the chickens, fed the pigs, picked lots of apples, dried some flowers and more! And we ate the YUMMIEST food, all from the farm. Still the best part, as others have said, are the farmers themselves. Mari and Laura embody what it means to live into your values. They have manifested their vision of economic stewardship and model and teach how to grow and eat sustainably. They are welcoming and educational. Go -- you will be inspired!
Would have given it 5 stars, but they were all out of girls.
Lovely farm with friendly people and great products!
Place is great! Friendly and have a great selection of meats, beans and other treats. My daughter loved seeing freshly hatched poults and will enjoy the apple sauce we picked up. Also very convenient off of 89 and everything was self-service.Enjoyed stopping here and will be back, next time with my cooler so I can bring back more.
I absolutely loved visiting this place. The care and work these ladies put into their farm is amazing. Some of the best food I've ever eaten. Bravo!!!!
Great place for a visit or a stay! The owners are wonderful, friendly and helpful; the farm is run to be environmentally friendly, using traditional techniques to eliminate the need for pesticides or chemical fertilizers. Get eggs, meat and a good variety of produce all year round!
Green Mountain Girls Farm is a regenerative farm in Northfield, Vermont, with a seasonal farmstand selling its own pasture raised pork, lamb, poultry, eggs and vegetables.
Green Mountain Girls Farm is a regenerative farm on Loop Road in Northfield, central Vermont, run by co-owners Mari Omland and Laura Olsen, who have farmed here for more than two decades. The farm raises pasture raised pork, lamb and poultry, rotated weekly onto fresh pasture and fed organic grain with no growth hormones, alongside vegetables, fruit and herbs. It is not certified organic, but the farm manages its crops organically and generally follows organic standards, and it describes its whole purpose as regeneration: growing food in ways that leave the land better able to grow food in future.
The seasonal farmstand at 923 Loop Road sells the farm's own meat, eggs, salad greens and vegetables along with prepared foods such as bone broth, applesauce and hot sauce, and it stocks maple syrup, honey and baked goods from named local producers alongside its own. It opens Wednesday to Sunday from 20 May through Thanksgiving, and orders can be placed all year round through the Northfield Farmers Market and the Red Hen App. Mari and Laura also welcome visitors to the farm for farm stays in the Barn Guesthouse and Farmhouse Inn, farm tours, farmers lunches and hands on workshops.
