Lovely peaceful place to stay.
An absolute treasure! The hotel was elegant and beautifully appointed. The castle and grounds were stunning. Our room overlooked a pasture with cows grazing. It was so peaceful and idyllic. The sitting and breakfast rooms were charming and the classical music playing gave them added charm. The breakfast, which included homemade scones and jams, among other items, was delicious. We would definitely come back!
Just 20 minutes from Rosslare Ferry, Killiane Castle is the perfect stopover for early or late ferry crossings. We chose it for the first night of our Ireland trip and couldn’t have been happier with our decision. Set in beautiful, peaceful countryside, the approach to the castle immediately creates a sense of tranquillity. We received a wonderfully warm welcome from Patrycja, who managed several arriving guests with genuine attentiveness, making everyone feel equally valued. Our room in the old castle courtyard was tastefully decorated, spotlessly clean, and extremely comfortable, with beautiful bedding and a very cosy bed. We enjoyed exploring the grounds, climbing the old tower to the battlements, and taking in the magnificent views across the surrounding countryside. Meeting Vinny and Ronny the donkeys, along with the resident chickens, added to the charm and made our stay even more memorable. Breakfast was outstanding, with an extensive buffet of organic and locally sourced produce beautifully presented in Nicholas Mosse pottery. The freshly cooked breakfast, homemade soda bread and warm soda scones were absolutely delicious. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend Killiane Castle. It will undoubtedly remain one of the highlights of our “down memory lane honeymoon trip.” Thank you for a wonderful experience! 🤩
Rebuilding the food system, from the farm up
We stayed at Killiane castle for 2 nights during a trip to Ireland. Quite honestly I wish we could have stayed longer as it was a real highlight. The property is more beautiful than the photos depict. It is extremely comfortable and the breakfast was superb. I can not fault anything and would definitely stay again. Highly recommended.
We stayed at Killiane Castle Country House & Farm for one night and honestly wish it had been longer. We arrived in the early afternoon and were kindly allowed to check in a little early, which was greatly appreciated. Guests should note that the castle has four floors and stairs are the only access, which was perfectly fine for us but may be difficult for some older guests. That said, staying in a real castle is an incredible experience and absolutely worth it. The grounds were beautiful to wander through and we loved meeting the animals. We were able to pat the donkeys, got close enough to the cows for a curious sniff, and a lovely yellow lab named Daisy happily roamed around looking for attention. Breakfast the next morning was outstanding. My first traditional Irish breakfast and easily one of the highlights of our trip. It came with tea, coffee, fresh scones, fruit, grains and yoghurt. A fantastic stay near the charming town of Wexford.
It's been a few years since I was here but I think of it often. It was the highlight of our trip. My husband and I stayed for a few nights. Everything was lovely. The castle and grounds were fun to explore, the breakfast was delightful. I loved talking to the owner about his family and the history. Hopefully we'll make it back someday!
