Tykillen Farm

It was founded by John and Frances Morris and is now run in partnership with their daughter Ciara Kinsella, a qualified veterinary surgeon, and her husband Liam, so three generations work the same ground. The farm carries just over 100 ewes that lamb in early March and are reared outdoors on clover, carefully selected grazing grasses and herbs. Recently planted multi species swards have cut the farm's reliance on fertiliser, and about fifteen acres are under forestry.

Liam took a beekeeping course in 2019 and the farm now keeps its own hives. The honey carries the taste of the farm's clover, blackberry, wild cherry, wildflower meadow and tree blossom. It is raw and only cold filtered, so the flavour, enzymes, proteins and antioxidants stay in the jar. It is harvested in late summer and has sold out every year since the first harvest in 2020.
