Pokey Cow Farm is a family farm in Gypsum, Kansas selling grass fed raw Jersey milk, grass fed beef and pastured chicken from its farm store in the red barn.
Pokey Cow Farm is a small family farm at Gypsum in Kansas, run by Tim and his wife.
Their grass fed Jersey cows give the lab tested raw milk the farm is known for, rich and creamy whole milk sold from the farm store in the north door of the red barn. Alongside the dairy herd they raise 100% grass fed beef and chickens that are pasture raised on the farm and moved daily to fresh green grass. Farm fresh eggs are on the list too, and lamb from their own flock of hair sheep and pastured pork are both coming soon.
The farm grew out of standing in the grocery store wishing for better food for her girls to grow up on, and wondering whether her own gut trouble came down to what she was eating. She and Tim wanted food they knew the source of and could trust, and once they had it they opened it up to every other family asking the same question. The farm store is open Thursday to Saturday, and the farm delivers to Salina, Kansas. Their own contact page warns that Google Maps sends people to the wrong spot: the driveway is on the west side of S Gypsum Valley Road, lined with trees, wagon wheels and stone posts, with a post at the end marked Becker.
