The farm began bottling certified organic milk and selling direct to customers across central Indiana in the summer of 2003, and it says it was the first USDA certified organic farm in the state. Its herd of Brown Swiss and Jersey cows is 100 percent grassfed with no grain ever, grazing pastures sown with well cultivated grass blends, and the farm states it never uses synthetic fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides, antibiotics or hormones. The organic certification is verified against USDA standards by Indiana Certified Organic. The creamery makes creamline milk, cheese and ice cream in small batches and packs them in glass bottles and jars. The farm pasteurizes its milk but does not homogenize it, so the cream rises as it naturally would, and no raw milk or raw cheese line is offered. The Farm Store is open six days a week and carries the dairy alongside organic and pastured meats and local goods such as honey, olive oil, preserves, granola and baked goods. The farm also runs The Loft restaurant, an open air dairy bar, farm tours and event venues in its historic barns.

The milk is unpasteurised, unhomogenised and lab tested, and herd owners collect it from more than 30 pickup points including Fort Wayne, Indianapolis, Muncie, Richmond, Lafayette, Wabash and South Bend. The farm also raises free range broiler chickens outdoors on fresh grass, with no genetically modified grain, no antibiotics and no drugs. Cream and butter are kept for herd owners. The farm store adds bulk beef and soup bones from the farm's own cull dairy cows, grass fed beef and eggs from Seven Sons Farms, and raw honey and beeswax bought in from other producers. A named team of farm managers and dairymen runs the milking, the herd health and the deliveries.

Goat yoga, a farm school, summer camps, baby goat experiences and private group goat events all run on site, the family also keeps a horseback riding academy, and Nigerian Dwarf goats are sold from the herd. You can find Blue Heron Farm at the Warrick County Farmers Market in Boonville every Saturday from 8am to 1pm, collect an online order from the farm in Chandler, or have skincare posted, with orders over $45 shipping free. The farm is a proud member of Indiana Grown, the Indiana State Department of Agriculture initiative for products grown or made in the state.

For limited periods it offers raw milk from grass fed cows to members. Pickup is at the farm Monday to Saturday, 9am to 5pm, by appointment, with delivery by arrangement.
