C & K Farms

Both are third generation farmers from the area, and Katelyn's grandfather ran a small dairy in Boyne City for many years. They began with dairy goats and chickens, then went looking for an A2/A2 dairy cow because neither of them can digest A1 milk, and their first cow, Peanut Butter, arrived in 2024. The herd is still small enough that every cow has a name, and it supplies raw A2/A2 milk through a legal Michigan herdshare, with pickup at the farm in Wolverine and a second drop at Bragg Family Farm in Gaylord. Their cows are out on natural grass pasture as much as possible, get a mix of hay and silage when pasture is not available in winter, and are given non GMO grain at milking time along with free choice minerals.

Carey and Katelyn are also reclaiming farmland that had been left to grow over for decades, and they say regenerative farming is how they work rather than a buzz word. In 2025 they added a market garden, and in season they grow green beans, peas, zucchini, summer squash, chives and tomatoes, along with strawberries, blueberries, raspberries and peaches. All of it is grown on the farm at Wolverine, never sprayed, and fed with natural fertilisers. They sell produce and eggs at the farm and from a stand at the Wolverine Farmers Market through the summer, from 4:30pm to 7:30pm, where they also hand out raw milk samples.
