Knockatee Natural Dairy

Everything here is made with unpasteurised milk from grass fed cows in the valley just across from the creamery, which makes it one of the very few raw milk dairies still working in Ireland. The cheese is made only in spring and summer, while the cows are out on fresh pasture.

Seán is the master fromager and took the craft on from Peter Ireson eight years ago. The cheeses are handmade with minimal machinery and no chemicals, following traditional methods. The range covers a raw milk cheddar, a gouda, and the signature Kerry Blue, one of the few raw blue cheeses made in the Republic of Ireland, which took gold for best blue cheese at Blás na hÉireann in 2021. Cheese is sold through the dairy's own online shop.
