We had such a wonderful afternoon at the Honey Experience in Killarney with Tim! 🐝🍯 It was fascinating to learn all about honeybees and bumblebees, and to get a real insight into the life of a honey maker. We stepped into Tim’s shoes for a few hours — putting on the bee suit, learning about the hives, and filling our very own jar of delicious honey. The experience was both educational and great fun. The honey tasting was a real highlight, and to finish the afternoon, we enjoyed the most lovely homemade scones with jam, made by Tim’s wife. Such a thoughtful and delicious ending! 🫖🍓 A perfect afternoon for anyone who loves nature & authentic local experiences.
Tim is the kindest, gentlest human. He has an amazing sense for people, understood who was nervous and who wanted to know more! He is so knowledgeable and has an ease about him, that makes spending time with him so lovely. You can tell he loves sharing his knowledge with others. This was time and money well spent. Walking to the hives, seeing the bees in action, seeing them dance, the wax, the flowers, to the end product of tasting honey! And fresh homemade scones!! Thank you! An amazing memory for my family. We each got to take home a jar of fresh honey, wax melts, and a little honey dipper which made the experience even sweeter. 🐝💫
We had a fantastic time at our recent visit to Killarney Bee Walks & Honey. Tim is the owner and tour guide and he oozes passion for bee keeping like the honey his bees produce. The tour started with a walk through his meadows to get an education on the local flora of Killarney. Filled with a mix of beautiful flowers, white butterflies also fluttered around us and we continued our walk to the bee hut where we got suited up with the traditional bee keeping protective gear. Once suited up, we strolled along and inspected many of Tim's bee hives while getting a truly in-depth education on honeybees. The difference between the bees in a hive, how they spend their days, how long they live, how they live in their hive, how they make their honey, and LOTS more! The tour could have ended there *BUT* we were only halfway done! As we strolled back through the meadow, our next stop was Tim's workshop/kitchen to see firsthand how the honey is collected and bottled. And to top it all off, Tim gave us a honey taste test across 6-10 different styles of honey before sharing some home-baked scones! All told, the tour was about 2.5 hours and what I didn't mention was that the three of us were the only ones on the tour! It was mid-week, so your mileage may vary, but it felt like the Killarney Bee Walks & Honey experience is a secret spot away from the busy tourist attractions around Killarney and incredibly family friendly. We had a great time and Tim's now locally made honey customers for life!
Rebuilding the food system, from the farm up

Excellent raw honey that won several national awards. Reasonable prices (€ 8 for a 340 g jar). Tim is very friendly and hospitable owner. There is an honesty box, and open 8am - 8pm. Tim also showed us how to extract honey and make bee wax. Thank you Tim. Highly recommended.
This was a true highlight of our trip to Ireland. My 9-year-old twin boys have been obsessed with bees since they were five years old, and have always wanted an up-close experience in "bee suits" with an actual beekeeper. On a whim, I searched for beekeeping experiences in Ireland and was thrilled to find this one. I emailed Beekeeper Tim and quickly received a reply and confirmation of booking. The day of the tour exceeded every expectation. Tim was incredibly knowledgeable, warm, and patient with two very enthusiastic and curious kids. He encouraged their questions and gave them a genuine, hands-on experience that made them feel like junior beekeepers. We got up close with the bees, and then went back to his shed for a honey tasting and filling our own jars of honey to take home. My boys haven’t stopped talking about it since, and there were even tears when we left Ireland because they weren’t sure if they'd ever see Tim or "his bees" again. If we’re lucky enough to return to Ireland, this tour will be at the top of our list. I can’t recommend it enough for families, nature lovers, or anyone looking for a unique experience that’s equal parts fun and educational.
We LOVED the Killarney Bee Walks Tour with Tim!!! He is an absolute gem and expert on beekeeping. We were walked through the entire beekeeping process from how colonies are started all the way to the honey extracting process. We were asking so many questions and Tim knew the answer to every single one!!! Very happy that we got to take home our own jar of 🍯 to enjoy (they won gold at the Irish Food Awards by the way). Thank you Tim for a beautiful time.
What a fabulous and unique experience this turned out to be! We booked last minute with Tim on a Sunday afternoon and were treated to a tour of the hives, fully suited in beehive keeper gear. We learned all about the Irish honeybee and honey harvesting. We were able to continue our chat after the tour while pouring our own jar of honey and enjoying the scones and jam made by Tim's wife. It was an absolutely delightful experience just a couple kilometers outside of Killarney town. My husband and I could not recommend this tour enough.
A brilliant hidden gem for a lovely day out! The beekeeper, Tim, is so knowledgeable, brought us out to see the bee hives & explained everything really well. It was a really cool experience to wear the beekeeping suits & explore the grounds. Very interactive & plenty of opportunities to ask questions. We finished our walk with some honey tasting & delicious scones 😋. We even got to pour our own honey & take a jar home with us. Brilliant experience, couldn’t recommend it more. Thank you Tim! 🐝🍯
