Paul, Debra and the next generation, Christopher and Nicole, run it as their primary living with a team of employees. The cows are out on irrigated pasture eating fresh grass, clover and alfalfa for six months of the year, and eat whole stem grass and legume hay and haylage the rest of the time, bedded on shavings with outdoor access every day rather than standing on concrete or sleeping in stalls. No corn or soy is fed, the mineral mix and salt are OMRI listed, and every batch of milk is bacteria tested. Milk and heavy cream are bottled in glass, which the farm says preserves taste and freshness better than any other container, and empty bottles go back to the shop you bought them from for a refund. There is no farm stand at Otts Basin Rd. Their milk is sold through retail stores stretching from Bonners Ferry in the north down to Coeur d'Alene, including Sandpoint, Ponderay, Oldtown, Priest River, Athol, Rathdrum, Hayden and Post Falls, and through their own online store for delivery to Moscow and Lewiston. On the land they compost all the manure for a season and spread it before the snow, use no synthetic fertilisers or herbicides, let chickens, ducks and wild turkeys clean the pastures behind the cows, and fix swallow houses under the eaves of every building so the birds keep the pests down.

The self serve farm store at 307 Heideman Rd is open Monday to Saturday, 7am to 6pm, selling raw milk, meat, sourdough bakery, organic dry goods and certified organic feed. Products also travel through pickup locations, farmers markets, retail stockists including Homestead Produce in Bonners Ferry, and home delivery, with farm tours and a farm stay offered too.

The ranch began with six backyard chickens bought so Wendy's mother could eat eggs without falling ill, and grew from California to Idaho into 50 chickens, pigs and eight cows. Products are sold from the on farm store and through local stockists Jordan's and Choice Cuts Meats. The milk supply pauses each year while the cows take their dry period before calving, a rhythm the ranch explains openly on its blog.
